Manuscript of the Month
From 2012 to 2019 and over the course of 72 entries, the manuscript of the month was the predecessor of the Artefact of the Month, albeit with a slightly narrower thematic focus. Written in a clear and easily understandable way, these entries cover a new manuscript each month. Many of these texts have been written by members of CSMC and PhD students from its graduate school, while others are the work of international experts sharing the results of their research. Each manuscript of the month entry illustrates aspects of particular manuscript cultures by discussing specific cases. The articles show how fruitful it can be for researchers not only to regard manuscripts as containers of content, but to see them in a social and cultural perspective as well, from the production stage to later usage.
