CV
Irina Wandrey studied Jewish Studies, German Language and Literature, Art History and Philosophy at the Freie Universität Berlin and in Jerusalem at the Hebrew University. She wrote her PhD dissertation on Late Antique and Medieval Hebrew magical texts. During her PhD and afterwards she taught at the Institute for Jewish Studies at the Freie Universität and participated in research projects on Hebrew and Samaritan manuscripts. In November 2011 she began working in the SFB ‘Manuscript Cultures in Asia, Africa and Europe’ and setting up the CSMC Library and Collection of Written Artefacts. Between 2012 and 2023, she headed the editorial office of the CSMC’s academic journal manuscript cultures. Her research interests lie primarily in the field of Hebrew manuscript studies.
