CSMC brings together a variety of people with multiple roles and responsibilities: researchers at all career stages, alumni, technicians, administrative staff, and many others. For a complete list of everyone involved, go to People A-Z.
Fellows have always played an important role in the activities at CSMC. They have given lectures, organised workshops and conferences, and contributed to CSMC’s publications. Many of them have become an active part of the Centre’s international network, supporting its work even long after their physical departure. Fellows are invited only, applications are not possible.
Petra Kappert Fellows spend one to six months at CSMC. Mercator Fellows are invited for at least two years. Recently, CSMC has started awarding permanent fellowships to outstanding colleagues who have substantially contributed to their fields and to CSMC alike.
Artists in Residence
Through its Artist in Residence programme, CSMC strives for a true marriage of the arts and sciences. Across the full range of media and techniques, artists working with written artefacts in the broadest sense are provided with a studio space at CSMC to work and live in close proximity to the researchers. This facilitates synergies between these two worlds and allows for an uninhibited exchange of ideas.
During their stay, the artists will produce an artwork that will be displayed at CSMC.
