Responsibilities

Research Associate for Cultural Heritage

• Coordination and management of cultural heritage cooperation projects (e.g. Kairouan Manuscript Project)
• Consultancy on collection care and management, cultural property protection, heritage ethics, import/export of cultural objects, Islamic manuscript studies, provenance, and the return of cultural objects
• Teaching and training in collection care and management and cultural heritage studies
• Advice on third-party funding for cultural heritage projects
• Assistance with the coordination of the Cultural Heritage Unit
• Assistance with the coordination of the Ethics Working Group

Coordinator of International Cooperation

• Implementation and coordination of internationalisation strategy
• Preparation and coordination of memoranda of understanding and contracts
• Organisation of the import/export of cultural objects
• Development and coordination of relationships and strategic partnerships with embassies and consulates; governmental and non-governmental cultural heritage institutions and organisations; industry; law enforcement and security agencies; legal organisations; professional bodies; and universities, research organisations, and scholarly societies
• Planning and coordination of official visits from and to partners, dignitaries, and other parties
