UWA 2019–2025

Since 2019, CSMC is home to the Cluster of Excellence ‘Understanding Written Artefacts: Material, Interaction and Transmission in Manuscript Cultures’ (UWA). Funded by the DFG, it is now in its second phase (2026–2032).

On this page, you find an overview of the completed research carried out during the first phase of UWA (2019–2025). In this phase, UWA was being carried out in cooperation with Helmut Schmidt Universität, TU Hamburg, Universität Lübeck, and Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und -prüfung (BAM).
