To help preserve written artefacts and promote their social and cultural value, UWA researchers cooperate with museums, libraries, and archives in a variety of ways, ranging from providing qualitative and quantitative assessments of written artefacts, to co-designing teaching formats, including cultural heritage trainings, and co-organising exhibitions, workshops and other events. UWA’s Cultural Heritage unit has over a decade of experience managing and conducting conservation, preservation, digitisation, and training projects, particularly in North and West Africa and South and Southeast Asia. In Hamburg, UWA coordinates HALM – a network of local archives, libraries, and museums with which it cooperates on a regular basis. With this range of collaborative formats, UWA advances public education and social participation and innovation in the cultural and cultural heritage sectors locally and globally.
