ENCI, the world’s first mobile CT scanner for analysing cultural heritage objects, is on its second major field mission: At the Museum of Anatolian Civilisations in Ankara, Türkiye, researchers are looking inside sealed cuneiform tablets. But this time, they also use the method to study other objects.

Together with Marjolein Hogenbirk from the University of Amsterdam, MSI experts from the CSMC are trying to reconstruct the hidden text in one of the most spectacular manuscripts in the Royal Library in The Hague: the Lancelot collection.

The CSMC is currently running projects in two Indian states, Kerala and Tamil Nadu, focusing on the preservation and study of historical palm-leaf manuscripts. During her trip to India, Anastasia Poliakova visited both and facilitated the exchange between these projects.
