The Welcome Service for International Researchers advises all researchers, including doctoral and postdoctoral researchers, on all non-academic matters of life (health insurance, housing, residence permit questions, family services) even before they arrive in Hamburg. Hamburg Research Academy

The Hamburg Research Academy is a cross-university institution offering a broad range of events, advising services and workshops for researchers at all career stages, from PhDs to Postdocs, W1 professors and supervisors. Apart from information about the German academic system, they also organise career events, mentoring schemes, and a semesterised course programme with many soft skills courses in English.
