Currently, she is engaged in postdoctoral research within the Cluster of Excellence ‘Understanding Written Artefacts’ at the Centre for the Study of Manuscript Cultures (CSMC), University of Hamburg.
Research Interests
At the core of her interest are medieval to early modern illuminated manuscripts as complex objects of text, image, and material. She is particularly interested in materiality and historical production processes involved in creating manuscript books, such as parchment and paper, inks, pigments, dyes, and bindings. Armenian manuscripts are the primary focus of her research and serve as the central element of her scholarly work. Her methodology is based on an interdisciplinary approach that integrates the Humanities and Natural Sciences, combining textual, visual, and material analyses. This approach aims to achieve better understanding and preservation of written heritage.
