Dr. Mahdi Jampour received his Ph.D. in Computer Science, specializing in Artificial Intelligence, from Graz University of Technology (TU Graz), Austria, in 2016. He was a postdoctoral fellow at the Iran Telecommunication Research Center (ITRC) from 2016 to 2017, having been awarded the Iran National Elites Foundation fellowship. Following this, he served as an Assistant Professor at Quchan University of Technology from 2017 to 2024. Currently, he is a research associate at the Centre for the Study of Manuscript Cultures (CSMC), University of Hamburg.
Dr. Jampour has received several prestigious awards, including the Kazemi-Ashtiani and Chamran Awards from Iran's National Elites Foundation in 2019 and 2017, respectively. He was also honored with the KUWI Prize from Graz University of Technology in 2015 and the Marshal Plan Fellowship to visit the University of Massachusetts at Boston, in the same year. Additionally, he received a full Ph.D. scholarship from the Iranian Ministry of Science, Research and Technology (MSRT) in 2011, and the Best MSc Thesis Award from IAUM in 2009.
Dr. Jampour is an editor for the International Journal of Pattern Recognition and Artificial Intelligence (IJPRAI) and the Journal of Universal Computer Science (J.UCS).
