All episodes of Manuscript of the Month from 2015 to 2017 have now been published in a high-quality bilingual brochure (German and English). For all old and new friends of the series, this issue offers the perfect opportunity to (re)discover some gems: find out about a 13th-century manuscript that was accidentally found under the cupboard of a church near the Ethiopian-Eritrean border; let a Buddhist divination scroll explain to you how to find lost objects with the help of a turtle; and learn from a chunk of limestone more than 3000 years old what excuses workers in ancient Egypt used to stay away from work.
The printed issue can now be ordered via email at manuscript-cultures@uni-hamburg.de(manuscript-cultures"AT"uni-hamburg.de); it is also available for download on our website. The same applies to the predecessor of the new issue, which collects the Manuscripts of the Month from 2012 to 2014.
The Manuscript or Artefact of the Month, respectively, continues to exist, with new episodes coming out at the beginning of each month. The current episode tells the story of a Byzantine manuscript from the mid-15th century. All episodes since January 2020 are available in the online archive.
