The position is for a full-time, fixed-term postdoctoral researcher for a period of three years. It is intended for an independent research project on written artefacts in the history of science, and the project should fit the broader comparative research profile of UWA.
The role includes active participation in the cluster’s research programme and its collaborative activities. This involves taking part in research meetings, contributing to academic publications, helping to organise scholarly events, and supporting as well as developing existing cooperations and relevant networks.
Applicants are expected to have an excellent university degree in a relevant field, such as physics, mathematics, the history of the exact sciences, or a related discipline, with demonstrated expertise in the history of the exact sciences. A doctorate is required, or the PhD thesis must have been submitted by the application deadline. Fluency in spoken and written English is also required.
A strong interest in the materiality of written artefacts is essential, as is an interest in interdisciplinary collaboration across the humanities and at the interfaces between the humanities, natural sciences, and computer science.
More information on the position and how to apply is available here.
UWA is also currently advertising five doctoral positions and an administrative position as coordination assistant for the Mobile Lab. Further information can be found in the vacancies section.
