How to Participate
Information for schools
Mitmachen: Informationen für Schulen in deutscher Sprache
Requirements
All secondary schools in Hamburg and the wider area around the city can participate in Excellence in Schools. The programme is aimed at advanced students and is particularly suitable for schools with natural science profiles (especially chemistry and physics) and/or a focus on history.
If the event is held at your school, a chemistry room and two other classrooms must be kept free for the duration of the event.
In order to be able to set up the Container Lab, a sufficiently large area (approximately 100 square metres) must be available for at least two full days. This space must be accessible for a crane truck and it must be possible to supply the containers with electricity at the site. The costs for delivering, assembling, and returning the containers are covered by CSMC.
The Programme
Depending on the specific wishes of the participating school, the programme can take up two full school day of eight teaching hours. The minimum duration is one full day.
The total number of participating students should not exceed 30. Some modules are designed for the whole group, others, especially the practical experiments, take place in small groups of up to five students.
