The main goal of the XRF-DAT is to analyse tabular data generated by X-ray Fluorescence (XRF) spectroscopy in order to ease and speed up the processing and evaluation of data obtained when analysing written artefacts; in particular their inks, pigments and writing supports.
The main tasks achieved by this software tool are:
- Process the generated tabular data according to user-defined settings for manual inspection
- Generate a table to be used for scatter plots
- Calculate distances between different measurements using Euclidean distance measure (L2)
- It can process multimeasurement per source per folio, and provides corresponding details
In order to download XRF-DAT to your computer, please follow these steps:
- Download the ".zip" file, then extract it to a folder in your local computer.
- You can run the XRF-DAT application by double-clicking the executable file "XRF_Data_Analysis" in your extracted folder. It might require some administrative privileges depending on your system settings.
- A command window will start, then the XRF-DAT will run in your default internet browser. Although it uses your internet browser, it is an offline application running on your local computer, you do not need internet connection.
- When you finish using XRF-DAT, you can simply close the command window.
