We are happy to announce that volumes 18 and 20 of 'Studies in Manuscript Cultures' (SMC) have been published. Titled Canones: The Art of Harmony with a focus on Canon Tables and their importance for structuring, organizing, and navigating the Four Gospels united in a single codex, volume 18 has been edited by Alessandro Bausi, Bruno Reudenbach and Hanna Wimmer.
Volume 20, titled Fakes and Forgeries of Written Artefacts from Ancient Mesopotamia to Modern China and edited by Cécile Michel and Michael Friedrich, examines the history of forgeries, methods to reveal them and their significance for museums and collections today. The examples for forgeries discussed in the articles range from the beginnings of writing in Mesopotamia to modern China.
The two new volumes, like nearly all others in SMC, are published as open access and can be downloaded for free via the links above or the publisher’s website.
