Cultural Heritage Workshops
Our researchers seek to exchange knowledge and share experiences with academics, professional staff and trainees, for example in the field of conservation of written artefacts, in archives, libraries, and museums around the globe. By providing advice, training, and targeted support, we want to play our part in creating the local structures necessary to preserve unique collections of written artefacts in the long term, open them up to local communities, and make them accessible for research. At the same time, we benefit from the exchange with local experts who possess unique knowledge about the production techniques, transmission, and storage of manuscripts in their writing cultures. Our aim is to record this knowledge and preserve it as part of our shared cultural heritage.
