Knowledge Exchange

The concept of knowledge exchange is a centrepiece of our activities at CSMC and the Cluster of Excellence ‘Understanding Written Artefacts’ (UWA). A large interdisciplinary research community like CSMC/UWA gathers very different kinds of expertise and activities under its roof. Accordingly, our researchers use diverse ways to make their academic knowledge and practice fruitful beyond the traditional academic venues.

Teaching at Schools

At UWA, knowledge exchange begins with hands-on sessions on different writing cultures in primary school, and goes all the way to practical courses with professionals in archives, libraries, and museums.

The cooperation of disciplines that don’t seem to have anything in common yields innovative technologies whose applicability is not limited to the study of written artefacts.
