On 22 May 2022, ‘Computational Systems for Ancient Written Artefacts’, a special session at the DAS 2022 International Workshop, will take place in La Rochelle, France. The call for papers is now open, deadline for submissions is 4 January.
At present, collaborations between manuscript specialists and computer scientists remain exceptions. At the same time, both sides can gain valuable insights from one another: scholars in the humanities can provide computer scientists with intriguing use cases to develop and refine computational analysis systems; computer scientists, in turn, can provide scholars in the humanities with ever more fine-grained tools to work on heterogenous kinds of research data.
To foster the collaboration between different disciplines, Isabelle Marthot-Santaniello (Basel), CSMC researcher Hussein Mohammed, Marie Beurton-Aimar (Bordeaux), and Mickael Coustaty (La Rochelle) organise the workshop ‘Computational Systems for Ancient Written Artefacts’. The hybrid event will take place on 22 May 2022, as part of the 15th IAPR International Workshop on Document Analysis Systems (DAS) in La Rochelle, France.
The Call for Papers is now open and closes on 4 January 2022. People who are interested in this particular workshop can register for this session only, for a reduced attendance fee.
