The research and conservation work of the Centre for the Study of Manuscript Cultures in Nepal has been the subject of a number of articles in Nepalese publications.
In his piece entitled ‘Tri.Vi. Kendrīya Pustakālaya Pramukhakā Rupamā Tīna Varsa’ (‘Three Years as Chief in the TU Central Library’), IP Adhikari, former Chief of the Tribhuvan University Central Library, mentions the Memorandum of Understanding signed to preserve the manuscript collection between the TUCL and CSMC. A particular focus is the start of the project in January 2021 (p. 7) and the visit of Professor Dr Michael Friedrich to the TUCL (p. 11). The article is written in Nepali and was published in the February/ March edition of the magazine Pustakalaya Aawaj (‘Library Voice’); unfortunately, the article is not available online.
In a second article, titled ‘Hastalikhita Grantha Jatana Suru’ (‘Preserving the Manuscripts Started’), Ganesh Rai covers the joint efforts of CSMC and the TUCL to preserve the manuscript collection at TUCL. The article, written in Nepali, was published in ‘Kantipur’, one of Nepal’s leading outlets, and can be accessed online: https://ekantipur.com/literature/2021/02/18/161366194143761358.html.
