We invite applications for research associate positions on the projects ‘The Development of Literacy in the Caucasian Territories' and 'Valuating Handwriting in East Asia in the Digital Age', respectively.
The Centre for the Study of Manuscript Cultures invites applications for two research associate positions.
We are loking for a research associate on the project 'DeLiCaTe' ('The Development of Literacy in the Caucasian Territories'), which is funded by the European Research Council. The position is full-time (suitable for part-time) and fixed-term, with a duration of five years. Requirements include a university degree in a relevant field plus doctorate, excellent knowledge of the object languages of the project (Old Armenian, Old Georgian, Syriac, Ancient Greek, Latin) and relevant modern languages (English, Armenian, French, Italian), as well as long-standing experiences in Early Christian Studies and Patristics, Late Antiquity and Byzantine Studies, Armenian Studies, Textual Criticism and Manuscript Studies. The deadline for applications is 27 December 2021.

In addition, we are looking for a research associate on the project 'Valuating Handwriting in East Asia in the Digital Age' at the Cluster 'Understanding Written Artefacts'. The position is part-time (75% of standard working hours per week) and fixed-term, with a duration of three years. Requirements include a university degree in a relevant field, fluency in Japanese, Korean or Chinese, and English (written and spoken), and experience in dealing with classical sources. The deadline for applications is 15 January 2022.
