Lecture “Patronage and Religious Politics: Epigraphic programmes in mosques of the Saljuq period in Iran (11th-12th cent.)”

On 30 January 2020 at 6 P.M., Prof Dr Lorenz Korn of the Otto-Friedrich Universität Bamberg will give a lecture titled “Patronage and Religious Politics: Epigraphic programmes in mosques of the Saljuq period in Iran (11th-12th cent.)”. The event will be held in Room 0001 at the Centre for the Study of Manuscript Cultures, Warburgstraße 26, 20354 Hamburg and focus on the role of inscriptions in mosques as public statements on religious and political matters as well as part of the architectural design.
