Daisy Livingston Accepts Assistant Professorship at Durham University

After three years at CSMC, Daisy Livingston will leave Hamburg by the end of this month to take up the position as Assistant Professor in History (900-1250 CE) at Durham University.
Daisy Livingston studied History, Islamic Studies, and Arabic in Edinburgh, Oxford, and London before joining the CSMC and the Cluster of Excellence in 2019 as a postdoc. In Hamburg, she became a member of 'Archiving Artefacts' (Research Field E) and was the Principal Investigator of the project 'Documentary Practice and Society in Late-Medieval and Early-Modern Cairo: A Corpus of Arabic Documents from the Qaraite Jewish Community'.
At Durham, she will join the History Department, teaching medieval Islamic history and pursuing research on Arabic documents from medieval Egypt.
