Two New Petra Kappert Fellows in July

Starting this month, Pablo Ubierna (Buenos Aires) and Lei Xue (Oregon) join the Centre as Petra Kappert Fellows.

CSMC welcomes two new fellows at CSMC in July:

Professor Dr Pablo Ubierna is visiting the CSMC from July to September 2022. He is Professor for Byzantine History at the Universidad Pedagógica Nacional in Buenos Aires and has worked intensively on the history of Latin, Byzantine and Oriental apocalyptic traditions, especially on the Syriac manuscript tradition.  

Dr Lei Xue is also staying at the CSMC from July to September 2022. He is the Program Coordinator of Art and Art History at the Oregon State University and his primary research field is pre-modern Chinese calligraphy and painting. His studies on Chinese calligraphy seek to situate this unique art form within the ongoing art historical and theoretical debates.
