From 14 to 16 March, CSMC will host the Cambridge-Paris-Hamburg Graduate Student Conference on Medieval Chinese Manuscript Culture. The event is organised in partnership with the Faculty of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies at the University of Cambridge and the École française d'Extrême-Orient.
The conference offers doctoral students opportunity to share and discuss their work on medieval Chinese manuscript culture. This year, students from Hamburg, Cambridge, and Ghent will participate in the event. For CSMC, Nadine Bregler ('Dunhuang Scroll Pelliot Chinois 3812 – Later Handling and Usage'), Chen Liu ('Zhijian and his Lecture about Bodhisattva Precepts in Dunhuang in the 10th Century: An Analysis of S.3424'), Duo Xu ('Human-bird Musicians: Kalavinka in Dunhuang Mural Paintings and Manuscripts from the 6th to the 11th Century'), and Shutao Wang ('The Role of the Xoštır in the Turfan Manichaean Communities (8th - 11th Centuries)') will present their work. The full schedule of presentations can be downloaded here. The abstracts of all talks are also available.
The event will be held in person. Due to ongoing restrictions, however, participation is limited to members of CSMC. To register, please send an email to Nadine Bregler(nadine.bregler"AT"uni-hamburg.de) by Friday, 11 March, 12:00 pm.
