Leading up to the event, our Artist in Residence Axel Malik has launched an ‘Increasing Countdown’, which he started on 1 September 2021. Every day, Malik’s digital writing band will grow by one sign-like character – until 27 September 2023, the first day of the UWA Conference. On that day, the project will be finished and the cycle of 756 characters, which will ultimately take one and a half hours to view, will be complete.
