Fifth Summer School in Ethiopian and Eritrean Manuscript Studies starts in two weeks
7 September 2020, by Webmaster
In exactly two weeks, from 21 to 25 September 2020, the Fifth Summer School in Ethiopian and Eritrean Manuscript Studies is scheduled to start. Due to the present circumstances, all events will be held online via Zoom.
This year’s edition will focus on introducing its participants to the history, tools and resources used in Ethiopian and Eritrean manuscript studies. Theoretical lectures on research history and methodology, codicology, palaeography, and philology are combined with hands-on exercises in cataloguing, digitization, and text editing, to assist in forming the urgently requested practical skills in dealing with the manuscripts.
The event is organised by Professor Dr Alessandro Bausi and hosted by the Centre for the Study of Manuscript Cultures.
