Anti-Discrimination and Anti-Harassment Services at UHH
UWA staff and students who would like to discuss or report discrimination or harassment (including sexual harassment) they are or believe that they might be experiencing or witnessing can also contact UHH's Antidiscrimination Centre directly at antidiskriminierung"AT"uni-hamburg.de or through their contact form: https://www.uni-hamburg.de/en/antidiskriminierung/kontakt.html. Counsellors in the Antidiscrimination Centre can provide advice and guidance (including on different kinds of reporting processes) in situations of discrimination, power abuse, harassment or violence (including gender-based or sexualised violence and mobbing). The Centre's counsellors can also assist during formal and informal conflict-resolution processes and in the course of official reporting processes and can connect to psychological services available at UHH and in Hamburg.
Students and employees can also contact directly UHH's AGG (Allgemeines Gleichbehandlungsgesetz - General Act on Equal Treatment) Complaints Office if they would like to start a formal complaint process. Staff can contact this office at agg.uhh"AT"uni-hamburg.de or alexandra.abeling"AT"uni-hamburg.de (+49 (0) 40 42838 928, Mittelweg 177, Rm. S4004). For students, the contact person is Dorothee Wolfs: dorothee.wolfs"AT"uni-hamburg.de (dorothee.wolfs"AT"uni-hamburg.de)(+49 (0)40 42838 4201, Alsterterrasse 1, Rm. 404) or: https://www.uni-hamburg.de/en/campuscenter/beratung/beschwerdestellen/beschwerdestelle-studierende/kontaktformular-beschwerdestelle-agg.html.
All these UHH offices can provide advice confidentially and, if desired, anonymously. Please note, however, that anonymity and confidentiality cannot be guaranteed once a formal complaint is filed with UHH's AGG Complaints Office (the only UHH office that can process formal complaints). While staff and students can contact the AGG Complaints Office directly, we strongly advise them to first seek advice through the Antidiscrimination Centre when considering filing a formal complaint as the Centre's counsellors can clarify the conditions and implications of the formal complaint procedure.
Students experiencing or witnessing sexual harassment can also contact Itimad Lasfar directly (+49 (0)40 42838 8928) or through this contact form: https://www.uni-hamburg.de/en/campuscenter/beratung/info-beratung-online/kontaktformular-sexuelle-diskriminierung-und-gewalt.html
