Together with the University Society Hamburg and Montblanc, we talked about the past, present, and future of handwriting as part of the ‘Hamburg Future Dialogues’.
With the Hamburg Future Dialogues, the University Society regularly initiates encounters between science and business. On 1 February 2024, it brought together representatives of Montblanc and the Cluster of Excellence ‘Understanding Written Artefacts’ at Montblanc House: Martin Herde, manager of the Montblanc Museum, and Frank Derlien, who manages the nib production of the traditional Hamburg-based company, discussed with historian Kaja Harter-Uibopuu, co-spokesperson of UWA, and Markus Fischer, who heads the the Cluster’s research field on ‘Artefact Profiling’. The evening was moderated by Heinrich Graener, board member of the University Society.
