Vacant Research Associate Position

We invite applications for the position of research associate on the project 'The Scribe’s Choice: Writing Supports in Arabic Documents of the Early Islamic Centuries'. The call is open until 19 June.

The position is part-time (75% of standard working hours per week) and fixed-term, with a duration of three years (until 31 August 2025). The starting date is 1 September 2022 and applications must be submitted until 19 June.

The position includes research within the frame of the project 'The Scribe’s Choice: Writing Supports in Arabic Documents of the Early Islamic Centuries' which will be part of the new research field 'Material Choices' in the Cluster of Excellence 'Understanding Written Artefacts'. The scope of the research will be determined together with the successful candidate. The successful candidate will be enrolled in the Cluster's graduate school and participate in research colloquia, lecture series, and workshops. Active engagement in the research field Material Choices is required, which in turn offers a great opportunity of working in an inspiring team from across various disciplines.
