Multilingual Scholarship and Teaching
Normalised today as the lingua franca of scholarship, English makes our research findings inaccessible to large lay and scholarly audiences in many of the world regions in which we work. In order to enable conversations about written artefacts across linguistic regions and scholarly traditions, we hold some of our events, including talks and seminars, in languages other than English, focusing particularly on African and Asian languages.
Our pilot activities in this area have shown that they are in high demand. Please feel free to contact UWA’s Equity & Diversity Coordinator, Mariapaola Gritti (mariapaola.gritti"AT"uni-hamburg.de), if you would like to receive support organising teaching or presentations in languages other than English.
