Kairouan Manuscript Project
Virtual training in Emergency Preparedness and Response
28 June 2020, by Webmaster
For five days at the end of June, staff at the NLPCPM met with conservator Marco Di Bella for a virtual training in Emergency preparedness and response. This course was funded by the CSMC, along with delivery of emergency response kits to help treat damaged manuscripts after a flood, fire or other disaster, but due to COVID-19-related travel restrictions, the course was converted to a distance learning format.
The course was also attended by security personnel and staff at the adjoining Museum for Islamic Arts, which will play a key role in responding to any disaster.
