Pattern Analysis Software Tools (PAST)
Hussein Adnan Mohammed
Pattern Analysis Software Tools (PAST) denote a set of offline applications dedicated to the automatic analysis of both visual and tabular patterns in the research data generated from the study of ancient written artefacts. These software tools have been developed to facilitate a more efficient study of written artefacts and to help the scholars benefit from the rapid advancements in the field of pattern analysis. Furthermore, they can provide new insights which can only be emerged from the statistical analysis of research data. Each tool in PAST is developed and tested in close collaboration with experts from relevant fields of research.
DISCLAIMER: The following software tools were initially conceived on the basis of specific case studies and later developed to benefit the scholarly community at large. Researchers interested in discussing further case studies and potentially developing new methods and tools are welcome to contact the Visual Manuscript Analysis Lab (VMA).
