Manuscripts and artefacts shelved in their E-Flute phase boxes after preservation
The first preventive preservation measures for the collection of the Bhatta family at Changu Narayan, Bhaktapur have now been completed.
146 manuscripts containing religious and non-religious texts, and some handwritten paper artefacts have been cleaned and are now kept in customized acid-free E-Flute phase boxes. The collection dates between the 17th and 20th century. This preservation undertaking is a collaborative effort of CSMC and the Bhatta family in Bhaktapur and is part of the project ‘Preserving the Written Cultural Heritage of Nepal’, which was generously supported by the German Foreign Office and the Gerda Henkel Foundation.
