German Ambassador and Cultural Attaché Visit Branch Office in Kathmandu

Thomas Prinz, German ambassador to Nepal, has visited the Nepal Research Bhavan in Kathmandu to learn about the CSMC project 'Preserving the Written Cultural Heritage of Nepal’.
On 10 March 2022, the newly appointed German Ambassador to Nepal, Thomas Prinz, and Cultural Attaché Gregor Czaja visited the Nepal Research Bhavan in Kathmandu. During their visit, Bidur Bhattarai, Coordinator, had the opportunity to introduce them to the CSMC project ‘Preserving the Written Cultural Heritage of Nepal’, as well as related preservation measures for the manuscript collections that are currently being carried out in various institutions in the Kathmandu valley.
The Kathmandu Branch Office of the South Asia Institute (SAI) of Universität Heidelberg, which is also part of the Nepal Research Bhavan, was introduced by the Resident Representative Frederic Maria Link. Christiane Brosius and Axel Michaels also presented their projects ‘The Nepal Heritage Documentation Project’ and ‘Documents on the History of Religion and Law of Pre-modern Nepal’, both of which are based at Universität Heidelberg.
