Infrared Reflectography (IRR)

The CSMC OPUS Apollo Infrared Reflectography (IRR) mobile imaging system was originally designed to reveal pencil or graphite pre-drawings in paintings. In addition to visualizing spectral features in paintings such as underdrawings, it can supplement XRF measurements to identify types of inks used in manuscripts, especially identification of iron-gall inks and carbon present in mixed inks.
